Hair Care: Function of Beauty
Hey Fashionistas,
The wide variety of hair care in stores and online can be pretty overwhelming to most of us. In most cases we buy 10 different products to reach our hair goals but at the end of the day, we are still unhappy.
Fortunately, I came across a company that lets you customize shampoo and conditioner. Function of beauty is an awesome start-up company that is going to change the way you buy hair care.
Function of Beauty lets you choose a scent (essential oils, cucumber mint, grapefruit hibiscus, sandalwood violet, white tea jasmine and passion fruit papaya). You then choose your hair structure between straight, curly, wavy and coily. From there you choose your scalp moisture. Finally, users can choose up to five different hair goals like volume, anti-frizz or deep conditioning.
This company offers 450 million different combinations based on hair type and goals. What I love most about this idea is that you are able to change your hair goals based on your hair development and if you are unsure what you want Function of Beauty provides an instant chat with one of their chemists to help you assemble your hair care.
Beyond creating your own formula you are also able to name the formula. I named my formula G Blondy. This is a great idea for your mom, girlfriend or whomever you want to surprise. This can even be a fun father’s day present like for instance making a shampoo named #1 dad. It might seem weird but I am sure my dad would love it.
The prices are absolutely reasonable putting into account how personal you can make your hair products. An 8oz set (shampoo and conditioner) retails for about $26 and a 16oz set goes for $38. Thinking about all I have spent on high-end hair care that does not cater to my needs, Function of Beauty is an amazing deal.

I have tried these products for a while now and I am really impressed on how they have changed my hair care routine. I chose the scent grapefruit hibiscus but honestly I am not the biggest fan of this scent since it reminds me of a bathroom cleaner. I think next time I will switch to a fresher scent like cucumber mint.
Overall, I think that the products are fantastic and I recommend everyone to give this a try. I also want to mention that their products are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, GMOs, and triclosan. Don’t forget fashionistas it is always important to have a good hair care routine.
