where to take fall pictures

Hey Fashionistas,

Sometimes you don’t even realize the beautiful things that surround us. Way too often we take things for granted and oversee the beauty and everyday sceneries. Sometimes I have the urge to go somewhere far. It feels like I got bitten by the travel bug. Don’t get me wrong I love traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. Sometimes there’s not enough time or money to do these things. If you take a closer look you realize sometimes it only takes 2 hours by car to be somewhere completely different. We drove 2 hours from LA passing Lake Arrowhead to a beautiful hiking spot.

Especially now with the leaves changing their colors, this hike is stunning. The hike leads to a bridge with a river. If you hike a bit further you’ll hit a swimming hole.

We started the hike in the afternoon. It’s fairly easy to walk to the bridge and takes around 20 minutes from the parking lot. When we hiked no one was around leaving us with picture-perfect conditions. The sun was slowly setting which creates beautiful light.

The reflection of the bridge and the trees were stunning and I could have stayed way longer. This sure didn’t feel like Southern California.

We decided to hike a bit further to the “waterfall”. The waterfall is disappointing and the hike down to the waterhole is crazy. To go down, you have to hold on to a rope and hike down loose gravel and dirt. At the waterhole, we climbed a few rocks to eventually see the tiny waterfall. During summer I am pretty sure this is a cool spot to take a dip. The way up was even more exhausting. I hold on to the rope and pulled myself up.

There are also no restrooms passing the parking lot and the last third of the hike was uphill. The hike is fun and it’s worth it.

On a side note, the road to the parking lot is really bad. You don’t need a 4x4 but sooner than later you’ll reach a really narrow road and this road eventually turns into a dirt road with huge rocks. I was legit stressed out driving on the dirt road because I didn’t want to scratch our car or pop a tire. Before you pull into the parking lot you have to pass a small stream - nothing deep I just want to mention it.
