1. Skinny bottoms
I like to wear faux fur coats with over knee boots or over knee socks and a skirt. Nothing looks as effortless as a pleated skirt. It’s flattering and adds a touch for girliness to my look. Statement coats like this look better when worn with form-fitted clothes since the jacket is already oversized and fluffy. You don’t want to lose shape.
2. More is less
Faux fur coats are an eye catcher and all eyes will be own you - let’s face it we are ok with that! This means the rest of your look should steal the coat’s show. I like to keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the faux fur coat be the hit-piece.
3. Color
There are so many different colored faux fur coats out there it can be tempting to buy a “crazy” color like forest green. Don’t get me wrong I love colors but pick a color that you already wear a lot. This way it is easier to combine your faux fur piece with other items out of your closet.

The length of your jacket depends on what you prefer. I personally don’t like the long super dramatic looking faux fur coats - it is too much fluff. I also think if you are petite you might get lost in long coats. A short coat looks more effortless and is not completely burying your shape.

Faux fur coats are super versatile. You can opt-in for a full-on glam look with a leather skirt and heels or dress it down with a plain white tee, high waisted skinny jeans and sneakers.
