Workout with Style

For the past 27 years Nike told us to “Just do it” so today’s blog post is all about looking good while sweating your butt off.

Exercising became so much more fun since the clothes become more stylish. I find that t-shirts with motivational quotes can help encourage you on your workout. Sometimes something as simple as a shirt can get you to go the extra mile.  I decided to wear my reckless tank top shirt. I find that the word reckless helps me to never stop going and to try to surpass my own expectations. When buying workout clothes make sure they have the perfect fit. The fit depends on what you are going to do. I did some yoga and stretching so I wanted to wear something comfortable yet flattering.

I prefer working out outdoors rather than in a gym. I’m not going to lie to you here in Los Angeles the sun is shining non stop year round so why stay indoors?

My favorite spots to workout in LA are hiking trails like Running Canyon or the Kenneth Hahn Park, the beach, tennis courts or simply my backyard.

I went to the Kenneth Hahn Park to do some yoga. I love working out in the park because the air feels fresh and you have the opportunity of shade while being in a really relaxing atmosphere.

Before I left the house I grabbed my yoga mat. Nowadays, you will find them everywhere for not much money. I bought mine at Marshalls and I cannot complain about the price.

I decided to wear my black yoga pants. Even if you just look for a comfortable sporty outfit to run errands these yoga pants are for you. Yoga pants are the stylish alternative to jogging pants.

The Jacket gives my outfit the overall finish. It is important to wear a sweater or jacket after you completed your workout because you don’t want to risk getting sick.

No workout outfit is complete without shoes. There is a wide range of shoes, styles and colors. Choose a sneaker that feels good and fits the purpose of your workout. I’m wearing Nike Air Max Thea sneakers in gray / pink. I love these shoes because they look stylish and they are really comfortable. You don’t have to risk style for comfort anymore. There are many stylish sneakers that do the job that ugly frumpy shoes would do. Find a shoe that you can feel proud of when you are walking back home after a hard workout or just after running some errands.

Go-To Work Attire

Today I’m going to show you one of my favorite working outfits. This outfit is classy, absolutely stylish and extremely comfortable.

One of my biggest daily struggles is waking up in the morning and having no idea what to wear. You can have a closet full of clothes but your brain can sometimes go into a style coma. In these situations it is always helpful to have a go-to outfit.

My go-to outfit for work starts with a pair of blue dressing pants. I love blue pants because they look chic and you can pair them with almost everything. On top of that enough people are wearing black pants in the office so why not mixing it up a little. Having a simple and comfortable pair of dressing pants can help you in days where nothing comes to mind.  

In order to look sophisticated, it is best to tuck your blouse into your pants. I recommend this for a couple of reasons. There is nothing worse then looking sloppy in front of your boss and coworkers and giving them the impression of “I was running late so I just throw on a shirt”. Secondly, your blazer will look better since there is no disturbing blouse showing under your blazer and a tucked shirt will overall make your outfit look complete. I decide to wear a white sleeveless blouse since it is the best supporting color for my rose blazer. A white blouse will give your look the right amount of cleanliness and friendliness.

The best piece of clothes in this outfit is my statement blazer. I’m in love with this cute Kate Spade blazer. It looks really feminine and unique. This blazer adds the right amount of color to this outfit and you will catch people’s attention in the office. Don’t be afraid to wear a loud or a colorful blazer just remember to soften the style by wearing a white shirt to contrast such statement blouse. 

If you are putting together an outfit try to think of accessories that would support the look not compete with the look. For my outfit I wore a gold leave statement necklace that goes really well with the roses on the blazer and the pearl earrings. Pearls, real or fake, will always give your look the kind of sophistication you want to achieve when wearing an office outfit.

My blue purse is chick and timeless and a perfect addition to this outfit. This handbag works great for formal and causal outfits.

Before I left the house I grabbed my nude pointy heels. I needed a heel that looks expensive and upgrades the outfit but that was soft enough that it complimented the blazer. I strongly recommend buying a great looking pair of heels that would work great for the office. I actually have these Steve Madden heels in different colors and they are really comfortable and classy. Overall these shoes are the perfect complement for an everyday work look.

Don’t always go with a safe and boring suit to work. Mix it up a little and don’t ever forget that your clothes can reflect who you are. Loud and fun clothing can demonstrate your sense of adventure and courage. It can also exude confidence, which is what most bosses would expect from you. Always remember to be yourself in or out of work and enjoy your life and illustrate it with your fashion. Don’t be afraid to be different and unique.

Preppy but casual

This outfit is a mixture of a preppy and casual style. The white ripped jeans give the outfit an overall casual look. I tucked the denim shirt into my pants to give the outfit more structure and to avoid looking sloppy. I completely buttoned up the shirt to make it look more elegant.

The black belt separates the top from the jeans creating a waistline. If you tuck your shirt into your pants always use a belt to create a separation and to make your outfit look clean and stylish.

In case it got cold I threw on a faux fur vest. I really like faux fur especially when it gets chillier outside. I guess buying faux fur is in my genes since I grew up in Germany and fur was a necessity or I must have been cavewomen in my past life, who knows.

The summer ends next month and fall will emerge. Which shoes would be more suitable than Timberlands? Timberland boots are perfect for the wet season and they come in many different fun colors. They are waterproof, comfortable and absolutely stylish. I live in California but every time the temperature drops under 70, you better believe it, I’m wearing my Timberlands. Honestly I even wear them with a pair of shorts when it’s 80 outside just because it looks super cool. I wear what feel good not what others believe to be the standard ensemble. You can’t be stylish if you can’t be outside the norm.

I decided to wear a gold statement necklace with black stones to add a little bit more glamour to my outfit. The clutch gives the outfit a more feminine vibe and makes my outfit complete.

This outfit is super causal but it looks sophisticated. Don’t be afraid to mix colors and fabrics. Go ahead and pair rough boots to a delicate blouse you will be surprised on how good it can look.
