Floral Dress for Summer

Hey Fashionistas,

Summer is my favorite season of the year. I’m a sunshine lover and if I could I would spend most of my days on the beach or at a lake. Summer is also the season of floral dresses, snazzy skirts and destroyed shorts. I’m always saying I’m an 80’s kind of girl and with 80’s I don’t mean the birth year I mean Fahrenheit.

Anyways let’s talk about the outfit. My dress is a simple floral A-line dress with a brown belt. I think belts are a nice tool to shape dresses especially when you wear a loose dress. They will give your body shape; dimension and they can create a waist. Why? It’s simple the belt is ideally sitting on you waistline and on this point the fabric will be squeezed and you create an illusion of a waistline.

My purse and my shoes are matching the belt and those three items create an overall balance. I'm wearing one of my favorite summer wedges and as I stated before wedges are comfortable and can upgrade an outfit from simple to stylish. On top I’m wearing my jeans jacket for the evening breeze. Jeans jackets are easy to wear and in a lighter color are perfect for any summer attire.

Summer is the season of fun and bright colors so don’t hide behind a grey oversized sweater wear dresses that flow with the wind, shorts that can rock a summer night and bright colored skirts that are simply fun.  Always remember to wear sunscreen you don't want to find wrinkles you didn't have before.

I know that summer can bring a lot of insecurities so be strong and don't be your worst critic. Love who you are and respect what god has given you. We are all perfect if we ourselves believe it and as soon as the sun kisses our skin everything will be all right.

Casual Shopping Trip

Hey Fashionistas,

Shopping is my favorite past time. Who says you can’t look great while you shop? One thing that is essential when I go shopping is comfortable yet stylish clothes that I can get in and out of at any time. We women like to try on everything we see so if you have clothes that are hard to get in and out of you will have less fun trying things on and it might ruin your shopping experience.

           

This outfit is simple but can be versatile enough to wear for a nice dinner out after you shop. I don’t know about you guys but I always get hungry after a long shopping day.

I find that black and white are the simplest colors to mix and match. Karl Lagerfeld once said that sweatpants are a sign of defeat and apparently you have lost control of your life. I have to say that it is all about how you style them and what kind of sweatpants you buy. In my case I wear ankle-length, jogger-style pants with sheen. The outfit is casual and cool so my faltered tank top fits perfectly. The leather jacket with faux sheep fur makes the outfit look complete.

In order to add a little color to this outfit I use my pink Ralph Lauren tote bag, which adds a touch of German Blondy while giving vibrancy to the outfit. I love big purses while I shop because they make it easier to hold all my essentials like water when I am thirsty or a pair of flats when I get tired of walking in heels. Make your life easier while you shop there is no need to be unhappy in such a happy environment. 

I decided to go with my black pointy Steve Madden heels. These heels are my go-to-heels because (surprisingly) they are really comfortable and a 4-inch heel is the perfect height for the office or a shopping trip. Black heels are an essential in every shoe closet. They always look sleek and fit to nearly everything.

I would like to encourage you to try thing you wouldn’t usually wear. Only because it looks bad on the hanger doesn’t mean it looks bad on you. You will be surprised with what looks good on you. Don’t forget that you can’t succeed if you don’t try.

Simple and Classy

This outfit is an all-rounder. You can wear this ensemble to school, to work (if you don’t have a dress code), on a date or just like me on a regular day.

This outfit looks sophisticated, stylish yet simple. The best thing about this outfit is that it’s affordable. You don’t need to have an expensive wardrobe in order to look chic. There is a difference between seasonal items and classic pieces. Seasonal items are clothes made for a specific trend, which come and go. In this case shop smart and go to H&M, Forever 21, Zara etc. for your seasonal items and spend a little more on Classic items like purses or shoes. Invest a little bit more because they won’t go out of style and an expensive purse / shoes automatically upgrade your outfit.  

I have a Ralph Lauren purse that might sound expensive but can now be found at discounted prices. Splurge a little on your purse and shoes they can make you look more sophisticated while saving money on the rest of the outfit.

Where I save most of my money is on my blouse and jeans. I decided to wear my skinny destroyed jeans that I recently bought from H&M and a blue blouse. Lately, I’m in the mood of wearing destroyed jeans just because they make your pants a little bit more interesting and it gives it more dimension. 

The V-neck blouse in royal blue adds a romantic touch to my outfit because it’s light and flows in the wind and I think the color blue works really well for blondes. Since it’s a V-neck cut a statement necklace works well to put the focus on your décolleté. I decided to wear my gold leaf necklace because it connects with the flower heels. 

Floral heels are perfect this time a year. They are bright and fun while adding a splash of color to any outfit. 

Fashion lovers don’t forget you don’t have to spend to look expensive. Having a classic item can make you look more chic while actually saving on the cost of the rest of the outfit. Find colors that match your personality so you can add a touch of you in each outfit. Don’t be afraid to stand out. You are what you present so present yourself in the best way possible.

Date Night

Hey Fashionistas,

I’m obsessed with hats lately. They always make your outfit look complete and a hat adds a certain kind of cuteness to your outfit. In case you might think that you don’t have a so-called ‘hat face’ I have to disappoint you because there is a hat for everyone. There are so many shapes, colors and sizes, so keep trying and don’t give up. To be honest it took me a while to find the perfect hat but I did it and so can you.

I’m wearing this outfit to a date night with my husband that took place in a sushi restaurant in the late afternoon. I think this ensemble works perfectly fine for going on a date or having a picnic in the park. The colors are bright and fun and the jeans jackets calms the outfit down and makes it complete. 

The Pink dress is definitely an eye catcher and I guarantee that a lot of people will look at you so this is your moment take it and own it. 

This outfit needs either peep toes or sandals because it screams summer and it’s really feminine. I paired the dress and the jeans jacket with brown peep toes and a brown purse. The dress and the jacket are light colors so I recommend not going with black. Black would be to harsh for this outfit and it wouldn’t really support the pink dress which is the star. I suggest nude or brown colors.

I kept my accessories simple because they are the supporting cast to this outfit. Always remember to choose a protagonist in your outfit and work around it to make it stand out. I love to make pink my star so look to your favorite color as a stepping-stone to your outfits. Always remember to feel confident wearing your outfit because only then will it be considered a success.
