Hey fashionistas,

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite fall accessories - my knit hat. I normally write about a whole outfit but going through my closet I found this knit hat that brought back memories. To many it might seem like just a simple hat but this piece means a lot to me. My mom gave me this hat as a present. I haven’t seen my parents in over a year. The reason behind this is because I am currently living in Los Angeles whereas my parents still live in Germany. 

My mom likes to send me packages for by birthday and holidays filled with German candy and other surprises. This knit hat from Esprit was in one of those packages. My mom knows my style really well so I was happy to get this hat. Living in a different continent is not always easy and sometimes I feel homesick. In those moments I like to look back with funny pictures or in this case pull out this hat that means so much to me. It doesn’t matter how far away you live from your loved ones as long as you know that someone is thinking of you is all that matters.

Fashion is about emotions and I bet every one of you has at least one item that reminds you of something special. That could be everything from your engagement party to your grand mothers jacket or in my case this cute hat.

What I love most about this knit piece are the details. I love faux fur pompoms and knit wear for fall / winter. This hat keeps my ears warm while looking stylish. There is also a funny story behind the brand Esprit. Always when I see this brand it reminds me of my mom. You might wonder why? The answer is simple. Esprit has been in our household forever. My mom really likes the brand and I have to say there clothes are pretty amazing. In case you never heard of Esprit before, this brand is more know in Germany / Europe but there is a handful of stores here in LA.

Being that it’s fall I decided to wear my fluffy zipper jacket, which I paired with, my favorite knit hat. To finish the look I threw on some ripped jeans. This ensemble is causal and an easy-to-wear fall look that you can wear almost everywhere.

Next time when you go through your closet pause a second and think about the unique stories behind those pieces because every single one is telling a story.

Green is the color of freshness and harmony and that is exactly how I felt the day I wore it. I haven’t worn this dress in forever, who knows why but on that day it somehow spoke to me.

I decided to wear this diamond patterned green dress with a small brown belt. I’m a total fan of dresses with belts. They always give your body the right shape and it can make you look polished instantly. What I like most about this look is that you can wear it everywhere. I prefer wearing this outfit to work. It looks sophisticated and appropriate for work yet it is a lot of fun and colorful.

Green is such a bold statement color and a lot of people associate the color with spring. I know wrong season but hey I live in Los Angeles, practically it is summer all year long. Let’s be real here it doesn’t really matter what season it is and it doesn’t matter what’s in right now. All that matters is that you feel comfortable wearing your favorite pieces.

To keep the outfit simple yet sophisticated I decided to wear a green blazer. I was actually really surprised how good this tone in tone combination looked. To spice up the look I grabbed a pair of stiletto heels. What I love most about these heels is the simplicity of the shoe. The heels have beautiful details but yet they are just a supporter to the whole outfit. I went with earth tones for this ensemble and the heels added a pretty dash of yellow to this look.

When you are creating a tone in tone outfit make sure that the shades are supporting each other. That’s means not everyone green is the same shade but the overall outfit has to look cohesive.

Adding accessories could be a hassle sometimes. I decided to stick with earth tones like green, brown and grey.

Choose colors depending on your mood and go ahead and try on things. Don’t be shy to mix and match colors in front of a mirror. You will be surprised how good a monochromatic outfit can look.

Sunny Days Ahead

Fall is far from Los Angeles like the earth is to the moon. So my scarfs and coats will have to wait a little longer. Instead I’m wearing dresses and shirts.

My husband and I have a Sunday ritual which includes sushi and of course Football. For days like these I like to wear something trendy yet casual.

I decided to pair my black skirt with a simple printed tank top.  This is a simple black and white combination that I took to the next level with a few accessories and some fun sneakers.

I love wearing printed tank tops during sunny days especially when they have a high neckline like this one. I prefer high necklines simply because I already show off the skin on my legs and on my arms and there is no need for more. This makes the outfit looks more sophisticated without trying hard.

What I love most about the bell skirt is the feminine shape and the fit. The skirt sits right above the hip and this creates a small waistline. In order to create the right proportions I recommend tucking your shirt into the skirt.

The perfect shoes for this casual skirt tank top combination are sneakers. I recently bought these cute ‘love’ sneakers from Kate Spade. They are absolutely stylish and fun.

To add the finishing touches to my look and to stay true to my favorite color (pink) I decided to wear my small Kate Spade rose cross bag. This bag is an eye catcher and it upgrades every outfit. On top of that it will give every outfit a splash of color.

Ifchic lets you collect up to 6 coins a day, if you do the math you can collect 180 coins in a month. Each coin equals 1 dollar so 180 coins equals 180 dollars you can use to shop with! The only thing you have to do is stop by everyday, collect your Ifchic coins and of course you need to create an account. These 180 coins are basically a gift card that you can use store wide on the 24th of every month. I’m always super excited when I have coupons or gift cards. In this case I could spend coins which is basically free money.

On the 24th of every month you have the chance to redeem your coins. The #ifchic24 event start exactly at 12:01pm ET.  Fashionistas on the west coast can start shopping at 9:01pm PT, yes we are lucky we don’t have to stay up late to get great deals.

One thing I do want to let you guys know is that you can only redeem your coins on the 24th of every month so be sure to be on your computer, tablet or smartphone on that day. Once your desired pieces are gone you can’t get them anymore.
